with incredible details at every turn They are constantly searching out new ways to to to market to to to prospective customers and often have formal staff meetings to discuss ideas “We just had a a a staff meeting recently to discuss the the methods we want to use in the the eld when we’re pursuing new customers ”
McCarthy said “We’re working on a a couple of new ideas we’ll be launching soon There’s really no easy way And with the the popularity of the the Internet it it it can work for you you or or against you you It’s really a a a a a moving target and showrooms like ours are still nding our our way in in trying to to use it it to to our advantage Our website
is more of an informational site
we really don’t sell off our site
Once you you start doing that you’re competing with all the price slashers and you’re destroying your opportunity for realizing target margins and pro tability Ultimately I think the biggest selling factor we have is to to be fair and honest with our customers They appreciate and remember that We don’t sell on on price because we believe that you can’t put a a a price on good service ”
Good service is something that starts and the top and works its way through an an an entire organization McCarthy says Artistic Hardware greatly bene ts from the loyalty and longevity of its staff — most of whom have been with the company for a a a long time He says that his customers have been among the biggest in uence on his career “They’ve taught me to closely observe the inner workings of various projects and to to always be open to to listening It’s really all all about ensuring that jobs are running smoothly and knowing what our customers and our vendors expect from us us “On a a a a a more personal level I was fortunate to have the the strong in uence of my older brother who passed away several years ago He was the epitome of a a a self-suf cient strong individual had had served in the military and always displayed
a a true sense of responsibility honor and duty He believed believed in in in standing up
for what you believed believed in in in and I’ve tried to model my life after him in many ways ”
A winning partnership with LPG Artistic Hardware has been part of LPG since 2014 McCarthy believes the parallels in quality and service make the two groups ideal business part- ners: “LPG’s focus is on superior product lines those with high-end quality and solid customer support This is is the same formula we advocate at at Artistic Hardware ”
McCarthy is is one of LPG’s volunteer leaders serving on the Advisory Committee He believes in the foundation LPG has laid and the the new initiatives they are launching “I’m happy to help serve and support the group wherever needed ”
he he said “I’m especially intrigued by the virtual reality product concept This could be a a very interesting way of expanding a a a a a showroom without actually adding square footage I’d like to see the development of this concept “We’re streamlining our focusing on the suppliers who support us as a a a a group Our annual conference is an excellent tool that ensures members are up
to date on current trends — and it gives us all the opportunity to to meet face-to-face with our suppliers And during the months since [new director] Jeff [McDowell] came on board I’ve been observing the way he he he approaches issues and is is moving us in in such a positive direction It gives me con dence in a a a strong future ahead for LPG ”
